Oxford, 11/02/16 -- ISARIC is encouraging all members to share research data within the ISARIC research community and with external collaborators working in severe emerging infections. ISARIC would like to emphasise the importance of sharing data with national and international public health authorities during an outbreak, in order to assist with the rapid containment of the outbreak and to help improve the care of patients. We welcome the Statement on Data Sharing in Public Health Emergencies that was published by leading research funders and journals yesterday. We are also supporting the proposal from the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) to share clinical trials data openly. The ICMJE is encouraging anyone to provide feedback on their proposed requirements for sharing data before 18 April 2016.
