We are currently looking for a Communications and Operational Support Officer for ISARIC – the International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium. ISARIC was established to create a framework for ensuring research is built into epidemic responses. We are a network of networks that gathers clinical researchers, clinicians, virologists, microbiologists, epidemiologists, statisticians, and social scientists across resource settings. The postholder will report to ISARIC’s Programme Manager, and work with the rest of the ISARIC network, and ISARIC’s Coordinating Centre, to develop and implement internal and external communication activities and support operational activities, in line with ISARIC’s strategic, scientific and operational goals. You will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and updating content and materials for ISARIC’s key digital platforms and you will develop and maintain the digital platforms as required. You will also be working closely with other team members to deliver projects and tasks within two European Commission (Horizon 2020) funded projects that are run out of the ISARIC Coordinating Centre.
 
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in communication, marketing, public relations, journalism, information science, project management, public health or an otherwise health-related scientific subject. You will have experience working in the field of communications and possess excellent communication skills. Proven success working within different communication channels as well as on CMS platforms, RSS feed aggregation, web analytics and email marketing software is essential for this role. Experience of supporting operational and/or research-related activities, budgetary management and handling contracts and experience of working with external research funders would be highly desirable.
 
This post is available on a full-time basis. Fixed-term until 31 September 2018.
